Dr. Luke Wang is an Australian-trained and accredited urologist specialising in the management of urological cancers, benign prostate enlargement, and stone disease amongst a wide range of general urological conditions. 


Utilising modern robotic, minimally-invasive and endourology techniques, Luke is committed to helping his patients achieve the best possible outcomes based on the latest scientific research.


Luke obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and completed his residency years at Eastern and Monash Health in Melbourne. Luke then underwent advanced urological training interstate and gained extensive experience in large tertiary centres across a number of states of Australia including NSW, ACT and VIC. In his fellowship year, Luke underwent further training in complex uro-oncology and robotic surgery through St Vincent’s Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. Luke is also the primary urologist for the Renal Transplant Service at St Vincent's Hospital.


In addition to clinical work, Luke has a passion for evidence-based medicine and is actively involved in research and teaching. Luke has authored numerous articles in respected medical journals as well as book chapters. He has presented his work at national and international conferences. Luke is well respected as a mentor and clinical supervisor through his involvement in teaching and recruitment of junior doctors. Luke is the Supervisor of Training for next generation of urologists at St Vincent's Hospital.


Luke was nominated for 2023 John Billings Consultant of the Year Award at St Vincent's Hospital.


Outside of work Luke enjoys spending time with his young family and has a keen interest in basketball and golf.


Luke is also fluent in Mandarin (普通话).


Uro-Oncology (Cancer) Treatments

Dr Wang treats patients using an open or minimally invasive (laparoscopic/robotic) approach for:

  • Kidney cancer,
  • Bladder cancer,
  • Prostate cancer, and
  • Other cancers (testicular and penile cancer)


Urological Management

Dr Wang also treats other urological conditions that are both non-surgical and minor surgical including the management of 

  • Enlarged Prostate,
  • Kidney Stone Disease
  • General Urology,
  • Voiding Dysfunction,
  • Men's health (ie scrotal swelling, erectile dysfunction, vasectomy and circumcision)

Dr Wang has a strong interest in clinical outcomes research. 

He has presented on numerous occasions at national and international meetings, with many of his studies published in peer-reviewed journals. 

This enables him to keep abreast of the latest knowledge and technique in order to provide optimal patient outcomes.
